Lab Web Portal has broad applications beyond the clinical setting. Hospitals or clinics can have instantaneous, 24/7 access to bacteriology or serology tests, or Newborn Screening test results where every minute could be significant to the well-being of a child. Many public health laboratories perform environmental testing, such as Safe Drinking Water (SDWA) that would also benefit from quick turn-around reporting. Through the LWP, public water supplies could monitor sample status, receive important updates, communicate directly with the laboratory, and download their results through the web portal.
For partners outside of the laboratory, the LWP accelerates test ordering and result receipt. Sample collectors can use Lab Web Portal on their mobile devices to automatically pinpoint their location and submit test requests from the field. Researchers can get access to the data they need by running custom queries and analytics or exporting data for further analysis. Patients can access their results, which directly supports the HHS directive strengthening patients’ rights to obtain results directly from the laboratory.
Lab Web Portal provides secure web-based interface to submit test requests to the lab, track sample progress and access published reports.
